Meals and More is a service organization whose members prepare meals for individuals or families within our parish community who are in need of short term assistance due to a birth, death, illness or other hardship. We receive referrals and requests from the church office, deacons, other ministry leaders, and parishioners concerning families or individuals in need. Although assistance is usually in the form of meals, prepared and delivered by volunteers, our ministry also includes transportation (e.g., for doctors’ appointments) and short term adult sitting services. To request assistance due to death, illness or other hardship, please email [email protected] or call Karen Baker in the church office (626-6977).

The Samaritan Center provides services to the poor in the Mandeville-Lacombe area and is sponsored by 19 local Christian Churches. On the first weekend of each month, parishioners of Mary, Queen of Peace have the opportunity to donate non-perishable food items and toiletries for the Samaritan Center’s Food Pantry. These items may be brought to the Parish Center, where they are collected on Monday morning by parishioners who volunteer to bring the items to the Samaritan Center. The Samaritan Center is always looking for volunteers in a number of areas.
